Membership report / Yahoo Discussion Board Neil Wilson, Secretary, gave a membership report.
Current number of members is 162 in total to date, with 65 NHS Nutrition Nurses, Hospital Based, 6 Community based and 28 both =99 Majority band 7, followed by band 6, 5 and 3 respectively. 48 industry nurses and 15 associate members with 5 dietitians and others.
Membership expires on 31st January each year. Fees to remain at £30 for full year and £20 for remaining year from July onwards. Electronic renewal will be explored in relation to giving members the opportunity to pay by Paypal.
Member details kept on an Access Database on Neil’s drive at work. BAPEN database for some of the core groups membership will be launched very soon. However the NNNG have opted out of this as the benefits provided to the group were limited and some required repetition which was not seen as beneficial for our members. Andrea Cartwright fed back that the BAPEN database was reviewed last week and is much improved, Neil is surprised by this as he was told completion was some time ago and this was the final version and no further date would be made for delay.

CommunicationsCarolyn Best gave a report on the NNNG newsletter and other media. NNNG have been asked to contribute to the Nursing Times hydration and nutrition supplements later this year.
Members invited to write articles for the newsletter as committee is always on the lookout for support with its writing activities for varying journals. Website Kate Pickering, Webmaster, gave a report on the NNNG website www.nnng.org Kate generally updates the website with new information 40,000 hits a year, 3200 downloads from the website per month. Committee members want a member’s only section on the website and this will be password protected. This password would be changed annually and be generic so members could get it from their colleagues if they forget it. Cost implication if we change hosts and update it in relation to membership, and we will need support to do this.
